Madness is right...but happy madness:) Karson and I both celebrated our birthdays this month. I love that our birthdays are just a day apart and we get to share the excitement! But, I also tend to forget mine is coming because I'm busy planning his. This year he wanted a skating party. He invited a few of his close friends to our house for cake and presents, then we headed to the roller rink. All the kids did such a good job picking up skating! Karson even ventured into a race!!!
Audrey, Savannah, Karson, Ella, Nate, Brody, and Evan (all in his class except for Evan, our neighbor, who will be in Kindergarten next year).
Karson requested a #6 cake so Waalaa! (And yes, he's already requested a #7, 8, 9, and 10 cake for the next couple of years!)
Big sis Kassidy and her friend Kat were a huge help supervising the kids:)
Karson's "girlfriend #1", Ella
Audrey, Karson, and Jacob
Karson finishing his big race! He didn't win, but I was SO proud of him for trying! There were so many older boys but they didn't intimidate him at all.
Birthday morning...finally 6 years old!!!
I picked up Karson early and took him for a Slurpee in his favorite color:)
Once everyone got home from work and school it was present time!
His choice for dinner...Ihop! Chocolate chocolate chip pancakes with a whipped cream funny face!
Karson, like Kassidy, also received identical birthday cards from Mama and Aunt Judy. Isn't that crazy? We couldn't believe it!!!
Karson has had a SUPER year so far!!! He adjusted very well to Kindergarten and riding the bus. He was shy at first, but warmed up and made lots of friends. I remember one time we had a function at the school and I was walking around with him and so many kids said Hi Karson! It made me so good that he fit in so well. He has come a long way in reading and writing this year, too. He knows so many words now and barely has to sound any out. He is very good at sounding out words to spell them and figuring out how to use punctuation, too. He's an all around great student:)
Karson has grown physically a lot this past year, too. He grew almost 3 inches! It really won't be long 'til he catches up to big brother;) Speaking of big brother, Karson has adopted some of Kaleb's picky eating quirks. Hopefully he'll grow out of them quickly.
Kaleb and Karson just LOVE to play together! They are great at using their imaginations and sometimes spend all afternoon playing. They love building their own Lego creations, fighting/training Pokemon, and playing or acting out Minecraft.
It's amazing looking back at pictures of Karson when he was little because it seems like it was so long ago. He's really grown up and become his own little person. He is definitely strong-willed, but also gets his feelings hurt easily. He's a sweet little boy who just loves to have fun! Sometimes he is so funny it cracks me up! He LOVES to dance, actually sing and dance along to music. He has some very interesting moves;) (hip thrust is one of his favorites...we try to stop him but it's so hilarious!) Karson also loves to ride his bike. He finally learned to start and stop himself and has just taken off with it. He's always asking me to go on a bike ride with him...luckily for me they are short rides since I have to ride Kassidy's bike.
Karson is very curious about God and Jesus and said he wants to be baptized! That makes us incredibly happy!!!!! He's got the basic truths down, just needs to work on the heart attitude (don't we all?!) We thank God for Karson and the joy he brings to not only us, but all those who know him. He's very loving and we know this will carry him far as he gets older.
Next was my birthday:)
