March Madness

March was BUSY!!!  We started the month off with Karson's birthday, but I'll do a separate post for that.  Grandma flew in from Ohio and we all drove to Tennessee for a cheer competition.  Grandma treated us to a lot of special things this weekend.  Our first stop was to Wonderworks.  If you've never been to one of these I highly recommend it:)  The kids could've stayed there all day and never been bored.  And Grandma and I got in on the fun, too!

Next stop...dinner.  We were lucky enough to have a balloon artist in the restaurant, too:)

Day #1...the girls were doing great, got the pyramid up, but when they were moving someone tripped and a bunch of girls fell like dominoes.  My heart just sank because I didn't know if anyone was hurt and I knew they'd be so disappointed!  But everyone got up and continued on without missing too much.  When I went to pick up Kassidy she was crying because several girls landed on her and it hurt...but nothing serious.  Needless to say, after day one they were not in the lead.

That afternoon we went to the hotel where the competition was being held.  They have a huge indoor water park and a separate play area/arcade.  We played lots of fun games, bowled, did more rock climbing, and tried out a new thing where you walk way up high on different things like steps, ladders, ropes, etc all while keeping your balance.  Of course you're connected to safety lines but being up so high and seeing the ground so far below is pretty scary!  I think the kids did a better job than I did:)  Grandma treated me to a special birthday dinner and dessert at Olive Garden since it was also my birthday soon!  It was delicious!

Day #2...Well, the girls rallied today and were as close to perfect as you can get.  This, plus the fact that their difficulty is so high, boosted their score and they just missed first place by one tenth of a point!  Second place isn't bad, and they were very excited about their come back:)

It was another long, fun-filled weekend away from home:)  I'm so glad I had some help though and another adults company to enjoy.

 Pics of Jack

Karson has really been into dressing up lately.  He chooses a new one to wear every day we are at home (and not at school or work).  This one he got from the Schaefer clan for his b-day and has been worn many, many times already!

This Ninja he got from Grandma and Grandpa.  He loves to wear every piece with it, including the gloves and mask:)  It just cracks me up!!!

Two weekends later we were off to Myrtle Beach for the Battle at the Beach competition.  This time Aunt Beth Ann was able to join us:)

Stephanie and the twins (Eva and Julia) drove up from Charleston to spend the day with us.  The weather was not very good, as you'll see in the next several pics, but they kids still had some fun on the beach:)

Note the ferris wheel...this was when we got to the beach.

Kaleb was the only one brave enough to venture out into the cold water.

And now where is the ferris wheel???  That was some crazy fog!  We could barely see our hotel (which was on the beach) by the time we left.

I picked up the kids from school Friday around lunch time so we could pick up Beth Ann and start our drive to Myrtle Beach.  This was the day of their Fun Run, which Kaleb missed, so we made a little track on the beach and ran some laps.  At school they aim for 30 laps, but Kaleb didn't last very long...Karson ran 10 laps though:)

We headed to Broadway at the Beach that afternoon.  We found these ducks in a fountain just swimming around.  They weren't even scared of the kids who were trying to scare them!

More balloon fun!

I'm not sure which of these is more funny...haha!

Awards...the Ting Tings win again!

Karson has started drawing people a lot lately.

Our family complete with Jack. (I'm not really sure why we have wings)

Baseball also started in March.  Kaleb was thrilled to have another orange shirt, his favorite color.  I think this makes 4 years now!  You'll see more of him on a later post.

Here Kaleb is showing off his All A's honor roll certificate.  He's had all A's all year long:)

Around Easter we grabbed some friends and headed to a festival nearby.  They had an egg drop, face painting, inflatables for bouncing, food, and games.  It was very hot but a lot of fun!  Here's Kassidy with Taylor, her sister Lily Jo, and Gracie.

Here we are at Quaker Steak and Lube with Jaden

My sweet boys:)  I just love this pic because they really do love playing together!  They look so different yet their so much alike.

 Stay tuned for b-day pics...
