Christmas 2008

I know this one is a little late too, sorry! Let me start with decorating the Christmas tree. The kids had so much fun getting all the ornaments out and hanging them on the tree. They actually did a great job spreading them out all over the tree. Kaleb liked putting the candy canes all on one branch, but Kassidy helped fix that. Kaleb started to sing Jingle Bells, but added his own verse which was adorable! He sang Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells, put ornaments on the tree. So cute! The day before Christmas the kids made cute little notes for Santa telling him what they would like. Kassidy wrote almost all of hers by herself! That night the kids got a big plate of goodies ready for Santa with some dog treats for the reindeer.

We had a great Christmas! It was nice to hang out around the house all day and be very relaxed. We stayed in our PJ's all day (except Keith, he had to make a battery run!), put all our toys together and played a bunch with our new stuff. It was a great break from our everyday routine and very nice having daddy home all day long:) The kids slept in til 8, and thought it was so funny that Santa made a mess on the table and floor from the cookies and also by the fireplace with some dirt. Santa left a Shake 'n Go race track for Kaleb and a Barbie styling head for Kassidy unwrapped on the couch (Yes, the floor was too full from all the grandparents/family gifts!) Kaleb didn't want to unwrap anything for a good while, just play with his new cars and race track. Kassidy of course dug right in to unwrapping! Baby #3 even got some cute new clothes that big sis unwrapped for him.

We ended the day with a "show" by the kids. Lots of singing and dancing by the tree. They just love to perform for us!

Kassidy and Kaleb's Preschool Christmas Programs

It's funny how different each child is. Kassidy loves being the center of attention and just sang her little heart out at her Christmas program. She sang every song, did every motion, even waved and said hi to us. She and her friend really loved singing Jingle Bells, even when everyone else had moved on to singing We Wish You a Merry Christmas. It took about 30 sec, but eventually they caught on and started to sing the correct song. It was so precious listening to them really belt it out by themselves:)

Below is a video of Kassidy and her friend singing loud. They really liked this song! (I can't seem to figure out how to get rid of the green below the video...sorry!)

Kaleb on the other hand does not like to be in the spot light. I know he saw us waving and saying hi to him, but he looked right past us with such a serious face. He didn't sing one note, bang on his drum, or crack a smile but was still the cutest little boy out there!

Kaleb's 3rd Birthday

I know it's late, but wanted to show you some b-day pics anyway. Kassidy had the idea to give breakfast in bed to Kaleb so we made his favorites, waffles and chocolate chip pancakes. Kaleb thought it was really neat eating in bed! We had Kaleb's party at the park one warm November Saturday. He's still not fond of the birthday song, blowing out the candles, cheering, etc, but he didn't cry...a first! Kassidy was right there next to him with her arm around him to comfort him, so cute! We had another birthday party with Kaleb's cousins Ryan (3) and Alex (8) when our family came to visit from Ohio. It was at Monkey Joe's inflatable play place and we all had so much fun:)
