Father's Day 2009

Well we started off the day missing church. I remember setting and turning on my alarm the night before, but somehow it got turned off and we all overslept! I was shocked when I woke up at 8! There was no way I was going to get everyone up and ready and out the door in 30 min. So, we had an early start to the festivities. The kids brought in Keith's gifts and yelled Happy Fathers Day!!! He really liked his new golf club cufflinks and sandals:) We then headed to the pool and had a cookout with my sister Kelly and her clan. We had a really yummy lunch of hot dogs, hamburgers, fruit and yogurt dip, chips, baked beans, and 2 cakes for dessert. The dads had a relaxing day with the family!

Lots of fun so far in June

We have had SO much fun so far this summer! I can't believe it's almost been a whole month since school got out. I have lots of pics to show off so I won't type very much this time.

Keith and I set up an obstacle course all around the first floor of the house. The obstacles were sliding down the stairs on their belly's, jumping onto the bean bag chair, dribbling a basketball 3 times, climbing over 3 dining room chairs, crawling under the table, kicking a small basketball into the laundry hamper, circling another table, weaving in/out 3 stools, jumping over the boppy, and lastly crawling through the "tunnel" made by the couch and cushion. Kassidy had a blast! She did the course several times to better her time:) Kaleb was not interested at all...too interested in his red balloon!

Kassidy and Kaleb insisted on wearing their slippers, and Karson, too. It was only 90+outside!

I made a fort for the kiddos in the playroom. It's been 2 wks now and it's still up!

Inside their fort
Kaleb totally out during his treatment!
Daddy giving tennis lessons...they actually made contact with some balls:)

Bike and scooter riding

Stay tuned for more posts on Father's Day and swimming!!!

Karson-3 months

Well, not a whole lot has changed in the past month regarding Karson. Just a few things...he is smiling SO much now:) He especially likes to smile for Kassidy and Daddy. He still hates tummy time and I've actually been really bad at making him do it lately...oops! We did drop his late feeding so now he eats at 8:30pm and goes to bed for the night. He usually fusses around 6am for his paci but will sleep until about 7:45. (I'm hoping he'll find his thumb soon!!!)

He loves his baths now and never cries anymore. This last time he found his 'friend' in the mirror and was looking and smiling at him...so cute:) As you can see my big helpers are always around, willing to help!

Karson had his first day in the sun recently also. He is actually too big for the bathing suit I put him in so we'll have to get the bigger ones out for next time. You can see that he was NOT happy at all when I put him in the water, and it was only his feet and a little part of his legs. His little face gets as red as a tomato when he's really upset!!! (Reminds me of when I used to play the trumpet in high school) After a few minutes he relaxed and eventually enjoyed it:)
A few more of Karson's many faces...

Big cheese:)
Tummy time attempt...he wasn't in the mood I guess!

Kassidy's 1st Dance Recital!

I am so proud to say that Kassidy did AWESOME in her very first dance recital:) The theme of the recital was Rockstar and her dance was to the famous Lollipop song. I wasn't too fond of the costume at first, but once I got it on with the hair up, make up on, and hat on, it was pretty cute. Still extremely bright but cute. She knew to do certain moves at certain times, was right on the beat, smiled a little, did the kiss at the end, then waved as she left the stage. It was just TOO cute!!! Her teacher was off to one side of the stage doing the dance so the girls could watch, but she didn't even need to look at her. And her lipstick looked great! (that's funny because she kept asking me over and over is my lipstick still on? Does my make up look good mommy? Such a girl!)

Aunt Kelly, Lindsey, and Sarah were able to come watch, too. We all cheered real loud and even yelled her name a few times. Kassidy said she heard us! After the recital Kassidy got flowers from us all and a small trophy from Dancers Corner. She of course wondered why she didn't get a big trophy like the big girls! Maybe next year I said. Needless to say, we have a little dancer on our hands and we look forward to next years recital even more now.

I took some pics at home since we missed photo day at dance (we were in Ohio) and they actually turned out pretty good! Let me know what you think. Kassidy is definitely a ham and always has been:) We weren't allowed to take pics/video during the recital (I tried but it was too far away for my camera) but I will pass on the professional video when we get it, in about 8 wks. Yes, 8 long weeks to wait to see the superstar!

When we were in Ohio, Kassidy put on a practice recital for my family, costume and all. She did great then, too! When she was done all the kids wanted to dance with her...it was hilarious:) Here are some pics of the kiddos doing Kassidy's dance and some pics just of Kassidy. Being able to watch Olivia and Maddie in their dance recital really helped Kassidy understand what a recital was, that she would be up on stage in front of a lot of people, etc. Thanks girls for showing Kassidy how it's done:) And, thank you Kaylin for showing me how to do a bun! Even though mine wasn't half as good as yours it worked! (Thank goodness for the hat this year!)
