Moving day is here!

We are officially Texas bound! ! !

The movers made this cool shelf for boxes above where Keith's car will ride.

The boys love having space to hide now:)

All packed up!

Time for our last good bye's:(  Good bye Gardners!

 Good bye Jaden!

Good bye Gracie!

Good bye house!!!

Karson and Kaleb got to blow the horn on the huge moving truck!

Good bye SC!  Only 17 hrs and 25 min to go!

The kids got busy right away with their bag of goodies from the Gardners and Lindsey and Sarah.  They had several games, white boards, stickers, gum, snacks, candy, coloring books/markers, etc.  They definitely kept busy:)  Thank you!!!

Jack was an angel on the car ride:)

The first evening we passed quickly through Georgia...

and into Alabama.

What a beautiful sunset!

Crashed for the night

Ready to go the next morning:)

 We headed through Mississippi...

Look at all the states license plates we've seen already!  We ended up with 38! (and 2 from Canada)

and Louisiana...
The mini Bop Its were a hit!

and finally Texas!

Our new home state:)

Austin is in the middle and also the Capitol of Texas

We continued on past Dallas and stopped for the night.  Kaleb was the only one left with energy to swim.

Nothing like Texas shaped waffles for breakfast when you're in Texas, right?!

We got LOTS of practice making truckers honk for us:)  Not all of them did, though...

Our first Austin sign!

We are moving to the hill country.  And yes, there are lots of hills!  We are very close to the lake, also.  It's a very pretty area:)

Due to droughts the past few years, the lake is 38% below normal level!

The dam.  This lake feeds into the Colorado River and Lady Bird Lake downtown.  It helps keep those at a constant level.

Our area is the Hudson Bend

Lots of wooded areas around us.

Yea!!!  We made it to our new home:)

You know there's a good chance some wild life is close when you find a snake skin on your front porch, right???

Getting creative since we have no toys yet.

Balloon toss anyone?

Also by our house is this pretty lighthouse.

Fun with the white boards:)

Fun with the marker, too!  Now Karson looks just like Daddy:)

Our first dinner out and we already see wildlife...see the deer?  We also have bunnies in our side yard.

For dessert we swung thru a drive thru since we had Jack.  They surprised him with his very own pup cup:)

We watched the Lego movie on Keith's computer before bedtime...

but ended up sleeping in the washroom due to a tornado warning!!!  What a crazy first night!

Our stuff arrives...

Kassidy helping inventory everything.

We worked hard and fast to get things set up before Keith had to return to work.  The foyer, to the left leads to the washroom and half bath, to the right the kitchen.

Family room in back of house (all rooms have ceiling fans which is awesome!)

Upstairs loft area which is our new favorite hangout:)

Kassidy's room

Boys room, left side...
 and right side.

Spare room/office/storage

We have a doggy door that leads from the family room to the back deck and fenced in yard.  Jack is using it like a pro now.  He is exploring the yard a little bit, but is afraid to move too far from the house and refuses to go into the front or side yard at all.  I guess he will get up the courage eventually:)

We met two of our neighbors so far.  They were very nice and said to let them know if we need anything.  The neighborhood is very quiet, which we love.  No noise from traffic or teenagers outside late like our old neighborhood.

All in all it was a successful move!  We really couldn't have asked for a better drive here or a better moving company.  We are getting settled in and starting to explore the area.

More to come soon from our first week here...
