Yes, my baby really is 5 now! I just cannot believe how quickly these past 5 years have flown by! We started things off with presents from Grandma and Grandpa (since Grandma was in town for a cheer competition).
Pokemon-Both boys are really into Pokemon cards, figures, and the TV shows. It's so funny how they remember all those crazy Pokemon names and what their powers are.
What Ninja would be complete without ninja swords and daggers, right?!
Then came his actual birthday. We had to start early since it was a school and work day. Poor thing was fast asleep when Kaleb and Kassidy came in to surprise him with a birthday breakfast!
Now he's up and ready to eat his donuts:) Yes, growing out your hair means very messy mornings!
Present time after school and work.
LOVE this shirt, and yes he will be some day;)

A week or so later when Keith was home again we had his party at a Lego store. Here he is with one of his good friends from school, Carson Chuy. There's actually 3 kids with that name in his class and so the kids have learned to call them by their first and last names. Whenever Karson walks into school they all say Karson Gailey's here:)
Kaleb lovin all the babies:) Colton and Jaylee
A little Lego play time
Time to build the tallest Lego tower
The winning tower
Present time. Here's Karson with Mason, his buddy turning 7. They had the party together.
They each loved getting a huge airplane to zoom outside
Lego sticker book from his teacher, Ms. Bea
Another Planes plane
Bubble helicopter
Huge Mud monster truck, remote controlled
The birthday boys!
Lego car racing time
Kassidy found this display to keep her busy during the end of the party...
Well, it was another SUPER birthday:) Thank you to everyone who helped make this day so special for Karson:) It's really neat to see him growing and interacting with his friends and being so excited to get a toy he's been wanting for so long. He's very blessed to have such loving, caring family and friends!!!
Daddy took Karson to the Disney Jr. show for a birthday treat:) It was Pirates and Princesses (Jake and Sofia). Karson just LOVED seeing some of his favorite characters in person, including Mickey!!
Karson had learned so much this year in preschool. He can count to 100 (with just a little help), is starting to sound out small words, can write really well, and has breezed past all of his learning assessments. At first, Karson was extremely quiet and wouldn't talk unless it was one-on-one with the teacher. Now he has no trouble talking when called on in class and has made a ton of friends:) Karson has mastered the whole bathroom thing by himself (important for Kindergarten) and many other tasks which have helped him become independent.
Karson has really matured at home and is more like his big brother now. He gets dressed by himself, brushes his teeth and hair, helps get food/drink for meals, puts things in/out of the dishwasher, cleans his room/makes his bed, feeds the dog, helps clean/dry/fold/put away his wash, and helps me clean the house. He and Kaleb love to sleep in the bunk beds on the weekends and they actually sleep, not play the whole time:)
One thing we're working on is going places by himself...for instance, if I'm downstairs cleaning he doesn't like to go upstairs, or if I leave him upstairs to get something downstairs quick he wants to come with me. He's fine if brother or sister are with him, just not by himself.
Some of Karson's favorite things right now are Planes, Pokemon, superhero and ninja dress-up, watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, reading, and learning to ride his bike without training wheels. If I give him a little push to get started, he can ride his bike and even stop by himself. Getting started all by himself is a little tricky yet.
On my birthday, I woke up to breakfast home made by Kassidy! She made me cheesy eggs and toast with OJ...soooo yummy!
Even Keith joined us from Texas:)
