We always know summer is officially here when Kassidy has her dance recital. It's always the first weekend in June, right after school gets out. Kassidy did tap again this year and did a super job! I'm amazed how quick she can tap her little feet:)
Kassidy was so excited to have an audience!!! Cousin Sara...
Friend Payten...
Lindsey and Sarah...
Mama and Aunt Kelly...
and of course Mom and Dad! She enjoyed her beautiful flowers on our kitchen table for the next few weeks.
When my mom was here we did so many things together but unfortunately I wasn't very good at taking pics. I did manage to get some though so here they are...playing at Kelly's pool.
All the kids just LOVE the diving board! Alex has perfected his front and back dive!
Evan loves doing flips!
Kassidy shows off her toe touch
Kaleb does a super fast spin. I'm not sure why I didn't get one of Sara this day...
When it rained one day we headed out to a free showing of Rio and then to Monkey Joe's.
I think this pic is hilarious!!! They don't even know they're standing identical to each other:)
Evan and Alex joining Karson on the smaller inflatable. Karson is not daring at all yet for the big ones.
Back to the pool...
Mama and Karson
All the SC grandkids plus Uncle Donnie's nieces/nephews. We had a full crowd this day!
Mister tough guy trying to shoot me!
Memorial Day weekend we went to Freedom Weekend Aloft. It's a huge festival in Simpsonville with food, games, rides, concerts, and hot air balloons! We were so excited to go this year and see all of the balloons! Unfortunately, the wind did not cooperate:( We still had fun, though! The kids even got to make cool tie-dye T-shirts. It was HOT, to say the least, so Mom and I tried to find some shade while the kiddos rode some rides.
These next pics are when Keith finally used his Xmas present...a Nascar racing experience! It was in Charlotte at the Motor Speedway and he actually got to drive a real race car on the track. Kaleb, Kassidy, and I couldn't believe how fast he drove! Over 150 mph!!! Kaleb especially loved watching the race cars and did not want to leave.
These next pics are ones I took on my phone and finally got on my computer. Sorry they are so small!
One day I'm upstairs and all of a sudden hear Karson screaming! I go running down there and scoop him off the couch, trying to settle him down. Kaleb was right there so I asked him what happened. He said Karson put a little pillow between the couch and table then tried to go over the bridge and fell. I finally got Karson to settle down enough to talk and he said he hit his head. I take him off my shoulder to look at him and this is what I see...
I could not believe it! I never knew your head could just bulge out like that. Poor little guy! I gave him some Tylenol, some ice, and took him to the Dr. just to make sure he was ok, and luckily he was.
Here's Karson a few days later with his shiners. You can imagine the looks I got at the store, library, gym, etc.
Chick-fil-A hosted a flower planting one day in May for Mother's Day. It was really sweet:)Here's Kassidy at lunch after working hard for HOG day...that's Hands On Greenville Day for those of you who don't live here. It's a city-wide event where volunteers come together and do work at schools, houses, etc. One year we painted the whole outside of a house, one year we painted the inside of a business that helps disabled people get jobs, and this year we did landscaping at a school.
I just love these next few pics. Kassidy and Payten decided to give Karson a makeover...and he LOVED it:) Complete with finger/toe nail painting, make-up and lipstick, and a headband. He was so proud!
