Zombies!

Yes, you read that right...Zombies!!! Instead of our typical date night, dinner and a movie, we decided to do something a little different.  We both ran together in the Zombie Run in Atlanta in June.  It was SUPER fun:)  Each person has to wear 3 balloons around their waist, their "vital organs", and when they get popped they're "dead".  You could walk, run, or jog.  Zombies were spread out throughout the course and tried to grab your vital organs.  The key was to save up energy so you could speed through and dodge the zombies when you had to, or outrun them.  I wasn't so good at the dodging part but Keith was great!  I guess playing flag football has it's advantages.  I made it almost to the 2 mile marker with a balloon still left and Keith made it about 2 1/2 miles before they were all popped.  It was a lot of fun and definitely something we would like to do again:)  People even had their kids dressed up as zombies...too cute!

When you registered for the event online you could choose to either run or be a zombie.  If you chose to be a zombie you got to be made up into one!  Here's some examples...

We both would recommend this race to anyone looking for a good time.  It was like a big game of tag:) Tons of fun!

Daddy's Special Day:)

On Father's Day we started off with gifts for Daddy:)

Indians cufflinks from Mommy

The kids were very busy making homemade gifts for Keith this year.  They are getting so creative!  Kassidy just loves to paint so made him a special DAD sign.  (Also pictured is the watch/cufflink holder the kids got him engraved with Best Dad Ever!!!

Here's the birdhouse Kassidy painted just for Keith...on the one side it says Home Sweet Home, the other side has a big heart with Love, and the top edge says Go Browns!

Paperweight

 Karson's pasta noodle masterpiece!

Kaleb's card says Dad you (insert the big rock he pained) Rock!

Before school ended Kaleb's class made the cutest Father's Day gift...the front looks like a dress shirt/tie, the pocket has a picture of Kaleb, then you open it up and it says some of Dad's favorite things and then why he loves Dad.  Just precious:)

 Heading to church
For lunch we headed downtown to Wild Wings.  Sara spent the night and enjoyed the day celebrating with us...thank you Donnie for letting her come!  She and Kassidy get along so well!!!

After lunch we enjoyed walking around downtown, eating some yummy caramel and banana foster popcorn, and stopping at the Marriott courtyard for some playtime.  The water feature is a huge hit, especially on a hot day!

Sara just cracks me up with all of her poses!

A few races and lots of cartwheel practicing was the end of our trip downtown.

We all had a super fun day together:)  It was nice to spoil Keith and show him we appreciate how hard he works for us and how much we love him!  We are so blessed to have him in our lives.

Baseball and more baseball!

Baseball season was a tad busier this year with both boys playing.  Karson was so excited he finally got to play!  Kaleb made great progress this year in both his hitting and fielding.  He's getting stronger and faster!

Kaleb's team was the Detroit Tigers (one of these years we're bound to get the Indians!)

Karson's team was the Boston Red Sox and Keith was his coach!  He just had to have this cool necklace every game he played.

Of course we picked #24 after his Papa:)
Keith's pre-game huddle getting the kids fired up to play ball!  Keith has coached a few times now and I must say he's doing a great job...the compliments just poured in from parents this year.

Of course it wouldn't be preschool ball without some playing in the dirt:)

This game Karson saw a lot of action at first base.

After a few games the boys started tackling each other for the ball...you can tell practices end when games start up.  They needed quite a few reminders to break this habit!

This year Kaleb's age group had to hit the ball within 5 pitches or they were out.  There's no limit on the number of outs, though and scores aren't kept.  I don't' think he struck out one time all season long!

Mid-way through the season Keith started pitching to some of the better hitters.  By the end of the season all of the boys managed to get a hit without using the T...a big accomplishment for them!

I wish I could find the picture my dad took of me running in the state track meet in high school.  It's a shot exactly like this one in action.  He's definitely got some running skills!

All of my boys (Keith included) enjoyed a fun baseball season.  Kaleb and Karson learned so much this year.  It's fun to see how Kaleb is getting stronger and faster each year and comprehending more and more about the actual rules of the game.  He truly loves baseball!  Who knows if this will end up being his thing when he gets older?  We'll have to watch and see:)

Don't forget to check out my other recent posts...more to come, too!
