Falling behind on fall posts...

Well we have been busy lately!  I joined Kaleb's class for a trip to the Pumpkin Patch at the beginning of October.  It was such a nice day, sunny and warm, and all the kids had a blast.  They had a hay ride first, followed by a small corn maize, bounce house, small farm animals to see, 2 large and very muddy pigs, pumpkin patch, picnic lunch and a really cool play area.  We were all hot and sweaty and very tired by the end of the trip:)

Kassidy was invited to a Hallween costume party this year.  It was her first invite to a boy/girl party at a friends house where parents didn't need to stay.  Needless to say Keith and I were a bit nervous just dropping her off so we all stayed.  The kids enjoyed jumping on the trampoline, playing games, and eating pizza and treats while us adults chatted.  The highlight of the night was definitely the paint the kids got to put on their hair...they were all fascinated watching it glow in the black light!!!  Everyone had a great time and all the kids behaved and played really well together.  It's nice to see Kassidy's classmates actually do get along and none of the teenage "stuff" yet:)

Kassidy and her cousin Sara have been playing a lot together and sleepovers almost every weekend.  It's wonderful to see them getting along so well!!!  When they were younger they didn't always get along because they are so similar...only girl, very controlling, etc.  Now that they are a little bit older they just LOVE to play together:)  And of course they still love to tell the one boy younger than them both what to do...and he does it!
We were blessed with some gorgeous days this October.  Lots of sunshine and warm weather:)  Perfect for a trip to the park!  We had a family outing and played soccer, football, lots of running games, played on the playground, and had a picnic lunch.  It was the highlight of our weekend:)
Kassidy showing off her new skill...hanging upside down by only her knees!  We have been working on this one for awhile...she's had to get enough courage to finally do it:)
These next two pics tell a story.  Kassidy and I always have a competition to see who can do the most monkey bars at a time.  Last time she beat me by 1!  I was determined to beat her this time!!!  I went first and almost made it the whole way around...pretty good I thought.  She went next and got to my spot and kept going!  She beat me again!  I guess those monkey bars at school get a lot of wear.

Daddy showed Kassidy how to jump into the swing to get yourself going.
This is always a fun spot at the park:)  We take turns being the shop owner and the customer.
Keith took these next few pics to show our train down the slide:)  First Kaleb...
then Kassidy...
then Karson...and yes, ME!!!  I really am too big to slide down correctly.  I really slowed us down.
Kaleb is in Cub Scouts this year.  There are tons of electives in his handbook that you can choose to do.  Since he LOVES balloons we decided to make this balloon bouquet from sticks we found at the park.  It was super easy!  Just take a can and cover it with paper.  Put stickers on the paper, fill the can with sand, attach balloons to sticks and put the sticks into the sand.
Pumpkin time!  By now the kids know our rule...you have to be able to carry your pumpkin!
Luckily she didn't have to carry hers far:)

Daddy carving the world's smallest jack-o-lantern!
Sara got to help with the big pumpkin!

Puppy dog Karson:)

Kids showing off their art work from the pumpkin patch.  A puppy, Clemson paw, a ghost with a moon, and a ghost.
Off to trick-or-treat!!!  Here's Batman, Mario, and a dancer:)
This pic just cracks me up!!!  The mustache covers his whole mouth and both cheeks:)
Karson and I headed home early since he was getting tired, but Kassidy and Kaleb kept going for another hour with Daddy!  We had sooooo much candy this year!!!  We participated in something fun this year...a local dentist gives you $1/lb of candy donated.  They also donate $1/lb to the Children's Hospital and then donate all the candy to the military along cards the kids make.
Last we have Kaleb at a recent Cub Scout Pack Meeting.  They had a fun activity relating to the different character traits a cub scout should have.

And the new bobcat badge!!!  Way to go Kaleb:)  When they received the badge they told us to pin it upside down on their uniform.  When they do a good deed you could turn it around and sew it on.  The next day or so I asked both boys to bring down something from upstairs.  Karson refused to do it.  Kaleb, without being told or getting upset, brought his AND Karson's down for me.  That was a super good deed:)
Stay tuned for Kaleb's b-day...
