Last days of September

Karson is finally starting to use his legs in the exersaucer, instead of just hanging there by his bum:) He'll even bounce a little bit!

Kassidy is taking a little break from dance class with all the H1N1 going around so we had our own dance class at home! (she still got the flu anyway, but at least it wasn't bad)
I can't remember why she was so mad at me...such a great mad face!
All better!!!

Karson just couldn't wait up for his last bottle before bed...noticehe's still hanging on to his toys!

Kaleb is starting to want to feed Karson some. He doesn't last long though because Karson is so heavy!
Fast asleep on mommy...I love it:):):)
This day we played 'daycare' in Kassidy's room with all her baby dolls and had such a blast! That's why he's surrounded by pink here.

Supporting Daddys favorite team...well maybe not anymore...they really need to WIN!

On this occasion we played 'hair stylist' and Kassidy gave each of us a unique hair style:) Which do you like best? I don't think Kaleb liked his very much.

Yes, she used EVERY clip she had for daddy's hair! (don't tell him I posted this pic, ok?)
I can't help but put this pic up here, too. I just love how innocent kids look when they're sleeping:) Key word...LOOK innocent!
Stay tuned for some pics from the beginning of October...

I have a few prayer requests:
* My dad started a new kind of chemo this week...Please pray that he feels GOOD through it and that it will stop the tumors in his lungs from growing any bigger.
*Kaleb gets his tube changed next week...they will literally pull the one he has out, OUCH!, then put in his new 'button'. Please pray that Kaleb will tolerate the pulling out without being too traumatized and that they successfully get the new one in.
*Kaleb and most likely Kassidy got H1N1 this week. Please pray that they continue to feel well and do not develop pneumonia (which is common, especially in kids with a history of asthma/wheezing like Kaleb).
*My sister and her kids also got H1N1 recently. Two of my nephews now have pneumonia. Please pray that they get better VERY soon and remain home (not the hospital) for treatment.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your prayers!!! We are praising God that this bout of flu was caught early and was mild, and that Karson has no signs of it. We're also praising God that my dad is feeling great and able to do what he wants, enjoying every minute of it:)

Kassidy's school

Kassidy is having such a great start to her Kindergarten year:) She is getting to know all of her classmates and her two teachers pretty well. I hear a lot about Courtney, Jillian, Sammy, Caroline, Kennedy, Audrey, and Ben. The one boy, Ben, she mentioned because he won't play with her on the playground. She said he only wants to play with the boys! Go figure. It's very neat hearing her talk about what she did in school, she loves singing their songs (one for each color, one to learn everyone's names, etc), playing with the promethium board, starting to recognize words in books, etc. I cannot believe all she's learned already...amazing!!!

Her self portrait (I drew the dog)

Her name and ABC's...all by herself, no prompting at all!!!
Their class is the Zooming Zebras and each child takes turns bringing the mascot, Zac, home with them. Kassidy finally had her turn! Of course it was the night of open house so they didn't get a lot of play time. Before school the next day they need to write about their adventures in a journal. Now, this scared me because I've never seen Kassidy write more than one word at a time before. Then I looked through the writings of the previous kids adventures and got even MORE nervous because some of them were written so well! I felt the pressure to make sure she did a good job writing, but then remembered each child is different and I shouldn't worry about it and make it a big deal. I was truly suprised when she wanted to write all she did! You'll see later how she did...

Posing before her first open house

Before bath she finished her journal entry. I helped spell/sound out words but she wrote it all!
(in case you can't make it out...We played chalk. We colored. Zak came to my open house. Zak had fun! Then a picture of Zak, too funny!)

Carnival time:) Sara won the cake walk! Thanks for sharing with all of us!!!
Eating pizza

Sleepy boys!

FUN with silly string! ! ! Her boys got her good!

This one cracks me up!!! I was just going to take a picture of the silly string on my shirt, and right as I snapped the pic Kelly got me a ton of silly string in my face!Karson got in on the fun, too! But not by HIS choice!
Here you can see the confetti on her head from the confetti eggs...they were a BIG hit:)
(You just crack the top of an egg, get all the egg out, rinse, then insert confetti. I had no idea how fun they were!)
Lizard
The kids loved getting us:)And getting Karson, too:) This was either Kassidy or Sara's doing.

As you can see, it was a great time:)

Karson is 6 months!

I cannot believe our newest baby is 1/2 yr old!!! That just doesn't seem possible! His schedule is pretty much the same. He wakes around 7:30, usually plays in his crib for awhile, eats babyfood and then bottle at 8, naps from 9:30-11:30, bottle at 12, naps from 2-4, eats babyfood and then bottle at 4, bottle at 7:30 then to bed at 8. He usually gets 1 jar of stage 2 babyfood/day and about 25 oz formula. He almost always falls asleep in the car, but wakes up shortly after we get to where we're going. And he LOVES to play and chew on his paci when he goes to sleep. He doesn't really cry during the day, just plays a lot. He is almost always fussy before bed from cutting out his last nap, but we work through it!

As you can see from the pics below, Karson has grown and changed a lot since he was a newborn. He is officially 18 lbs, 7 oz and 26 inches. He went down a bit in the percentiles, but it's not a big deal. Still in the 60% range which is great:)

Now-6 months
March-2 wks
Now Karson had chub EVERYWHERE!!!!! I love it:) Everyone asks what we feed him but really he doesn't eat a ton, just a normal amount. Here you can see how chubby his legs and knees are. When he straightens his leg all the way he has this bubble that sticks up...hilarious!

Here you can see his chubby little wrists, too.

You may think it's kind of weird to talk so much about my little guys chubbiness, but after having a tiny, skinny little Kaleb I'm just not used to it! It amazes me how 2 kids can be so different. Next I wanted to show you that his hair is growing in. It's still brown, but definitely lighter.
Karson is sitting very well by himself. He does still lose his balance and fall backwards right on his head sometimes, but he's got great balance already! He can even catch himself if he leans too far to one side, and reach forward to grab toys and come back up. It helps that he has strong hands and graps toys really well. Notice the rolls here?!
Karson is really into his feet and grabs them all the time! He hasn't gotten them to his mouth yet, but loves to grab them when laying down and roll back and forth to each side. It's getting difficult to change his diaper now because he just grabs onto his feet!
Karson looking so big in his swing now! This blanket is one of his favorite toys.
Karson has started making noises with his tongue! It's so cute!!! Except when he does it while eating baby food of course:) Kaleb thinks it's hilarious when Karson spits food at him!
Someone said I needed to get more pics of me on my blog, so I managed to take one myself.

Big brother Kaleb just LOVES his little brother, and still says I love my baby brother all the time! Isn't it funny how Karson looks HUGE next to Kaleb?!
Here's the big brother again holding Karson. He learned this from Kassidy.
Another of his favorite toys, he'll even put this one in his mouth and chew on it! Another thing I'm not used to since Kaleb NEVER put things in his mouth (except his thumb). Sometimes we put him in the high chair with a few toys while we eat dinner so he's occupied and can see everyone. He's starting to drop his evening nap (usually sleeps 5:30-7), but lately hasn't slept more than 20 min. He seems pretty happy here:)
Here's Kassidy's favorite way to hold Karson, which she taught to Kaleb. She does it all by herself, too:) When Karson's on his back she sits close to him, grabs his legs and pulls him real close, puts his feet/legs around her waist, puts her arms behind his back, and pulls him up! It's pretty neat actually! Such a great big sis!!! You'd think a 6 mo old couldn't make a 5 1/2 yr old cry, right? Wrong! Karson has grabbed Kassidy's hair so hard two times that it's made her cry!
The kids started showing Karson some new toys a week or so ago. He's not strong enough to make the toys 'go' yet, but of course big sis and brother did that for him anyway:) I'm not sure what Karson was doing in this next pic but it's pretty funny!
Daddy and Karson

He really enjoys being 'naked'! He loves rolling around (from tummy to back, then side to side) and grabbing anything he can reach to chew on.
This is one of his new skills...holding his own bottle! We're still working on it, but he's getting better! Sometimes he'll take a break and chew on the nipple for awhile...good thing he's on the bottle now! Ha! Ha!
Karson is a real joy to have and I'm SO glad we decided to have another baby!!! We just couldn't imagine our lives without this happy, cheerful little boy:) We love you Karson!

Please check out 2 new posts below, too:)
