Is Fall coming???

Supposedly it's fall...but the weather here in Austin sure doesn't feel like it!  We've had so many hot, sunny days still!  Karson and Ella are the cutest little pair ever:)  They just love to have play dates and get along so well.  Here they are at her house enjoying one last go on the waterslide.

The deer are always around if you look hard enough:)

Kaleb's friend Alton gave him the Creeper head they used at his birthday party last year since Kaleb is a huge Minecraft fan.  After a few weeks of wearing it on their heads, the boys got bored and found a new way to play with it...using it as a drum!  They performed some great numbers for us:)

I just had to show off this beautiful rainbow!!!

After weeks of hearing Kassidy complain about her foot/ankle pain, we finally went to the Dr.  They couldn't really figure out what was wrong, except that she bruised it.  A little air cast and some time off her feet should do the trick!

We stopped by Chuck E Cheese's on the way home after the Dr's.  Of course the kids were so busy I didn't have a chance to snap any pics:)  They ended up having so much fun playing games, collecting tickets, eating pizza, then getting prizes!

Field Day for all 3 kiddos was in October...weird, I know.  Usually they save that for the end of the year.  It was a hot, hot day!  Did I mention it was hot?!  When will it end???  Karson's class was up first, luckily in the morning while it was still only warm.

These next two pics crack me up!  He's supposed to be concentrating on getting ready for his turn...instead he's jamming to the music:)
Air guitar anyone?
And he's off!

Kaleb's turn came and went with only 1 picture...at least he got 1, Kassidy didn't get any!  Oops!!!  It was a fun day for sure and everyone went home hot, sweaty, and tired.

One day we went to the Galleria (shopping/restaurant area) for some Halloween activities, like face painting.  We decided to stop into the store Backwoods and there was an owl!  It was amazing to see one so up close!  And a little scary with those super long, sharp talons and beak!!!  We also did some trick-or-treating at the Galleria closer to Halloween.

If you remember from my previous years blogs around Memorial Day, you'll remember we've seen many hot air balloons around our house in Simpsonville from the festival.  Well, we happened to come across a few hot air balloons here in Lakeway, too:)  It was a Halloween festival with some swings, music, little stations for candy, live bats, balloon animals, and of course the balloons that you could trick-or-treat out of!  Let me tell you, when we got close it was SUPER hot and very noisy!  Karson was too scared to uncover his ears or get too close.  Keith ended up having to take Kaleb home because his asthma was really acting up and we left his inhaler at the house.  This was a big bummer to Kaleb because he just LOVES hot air balloons!  They even let Kassidy climb aboard:)

Pumpkin time!

Kaleb chose a Creeper face, Kassidy a scary vampire, and Karson his own design.

Karson's class had their first field trip to a farm.  I had the pleasure of being the chaperone.  This is a really good group of kids, and the boys are super silly!

Hay ride!

Where a cow gets milked...pretty cool machine!  Karson with Ella.

One afternoon when Kassidy was at a friends we took a small hike.  On the other side of our neighborhood is a big, rocky hill.  It's undeveloped but has some rocky paths.  In the background you'll see the lake:)  It would definitely be a great place to build a house!  It's a great way to get some exercise and to stop the kids from saying they are bored...and great for a dog walk, too!

Time for trick-or-treating!  Can you guess who these silly boys are?  Hint...it's their favorite people from Mario 3D World.
And here's our beautiful Pirate Girl!

We finally met some neighbors in October.  Turns out there's a bunch of kids to play with!  The kids were so excited!!!  We used to get together with Amanda and the kiddos, have some food, then get candy.  Obviously we can't do that anymore, so we invited our new friends over:)  All the kids got along great and were off and running to get some candy!  Even a few of us 'big kids' got dressed up!

September happenings

September flew by!  School is in full swing now and the kids have their routine before and after school down real well.  They've done a tremendous job getting up early (6:15!) to catch the bus.  Karson is still pretty tired most days so catches a quick nap on the bus ride home.

Krish was in town for Labor Day weekend.  We found a nice park on Lake Austin (which is really the Colorado River) with a beach.  We spent the day playing in the sand, swimming, jumping off the dock,  and playing frisbee and catch.  It was a very relaxing day:)  The kids would've literally stayed ALL day if we let them!

The night before we hung out downtown for dinner and a drink.

Kassidy finally got the toy frog to stay...Jack was not amused.

We celebrated Keith's birthday in September:)  Then he was off to Cleveland for his annual b-day gift from his Mom and Jim to the Browns game!  He even caught an Indians game, too!

Karson started his Fall baseball season, on the Phillies.  He has improved so much this past year!  He hits the ball well, runs fast, can catch the ball fairly well, and loves to get people out.  Sometimes he even makes 2-3 outs per game!

Karson was super excited to get the game ball this time for making some great outs:)  Keith is one of the coaches.

My silly Karson dressed up as Dorothy!

Kassidy participated in the Cavalette Homecoming Clinic this year.  They taught the girls a dance one Saturday, then let them be in the Homecoming parade, then perform during the Pep Rally before the big game.  She has a fun time!

Safety Day in Lake Travis.  Kassidy went with her friend while I took the boys.

 They even learned CPR

Home Depot had a station where kids could build something

Balloons and a cool treat completed our day

We had a run of days where the afternoons were a little cool, well ok still warm but MUCH better!!!  The kids finally got to enjoy riding bikes without overheating:)

 Kassidy and her friend, Kat.

Looking forward to some fall weather...hope it comes soon:)
